As persistant as a fly...

From my experience, under normal circumstances, a guy would usually stop hounding a girl when:
1. The girl rejects going out on a date with him
2. The girl rejects any offer to go out with him even if he insists its platonic
3. The girl doesn't reply to his SMSs
4. The girl doesn't answer his calls
5. If the girl happens to answer his phone calls, she will give short and curt answers to his queries/wellwishes.

However, the girl is in BIG trouble if the guy refuses to give up even after the above scenarios.

Nobody in the right mind would be so persistant (and annoying) as a fly, u might think... But u'll be surprised...!

For the record, I am one such victim. No matter how much fly spray I use, this fly is as persistant as ever, bugging me and annoying me... And today it had succeeded in calling thru my phone line, and this is how 'fly-like' he is:

Fly: Hallo... Can i spith to Joenn?
Me: Huh?
Fly: Can I spith to Joenn?
By this time Jolll realises she is in trouble as she recognises the Fly's 'distinctive' accent
Me: Yes, this is Joanne speaking...
Fly: hah??
Me: This...is...Joanne... speaking...
Fly: Oh.. or..Hallo Joenn... haw r u?
Me: (Pretending not to know him) Who's that calling?
Fly: Orrr.. its me 'The Fly".. Have u received my SMSs...?
Me: (Pretending not to have received them although i had) Nope!
Fly: Huh..arrr... did u change your number ?
Me: Nope
Fly: Err err.. whats your number hah, maybe I got it wrong...
Me: 012-######## (in rapid speech)
Fly: Huh? Oh.. no wonder lah... i sent the SMSs to ****** number
Jolll trying to contain her laughter.. what am imbecile answer to a seemingly innocous situation...

Poor Damsel: Aiyoh...stupid ah beng car.. Traffic is slow here, still wanna tailgate me.. How am i suppose to give way on a single carriageway...?

Rude Motorist: Stupid...typical lady driver.. always so slow like a snail crawling... Shall keep tailgating her until she speeds up...

Poor Damsel: Bloody annoying.. where is he rushing to?? Don't care, just gonna maintain my current speed... The more he pushes, the more I won't relent...

Rude Motorist: What the??!! #$^%@$ ! Vroom vroom vroom...

Poor Damsel: Oh my gosh... I better speed up a little to appease him....

The Rude Malaysian (Part 1)

Came across this in The Star newspaper - its the "Rude Malaysian Contest". And the following are the typical rude behaviours of fellow Malaysians:

  • Not saying “Thank You”
  • Jumping the queue
  • Inconsiderate driving
  • Not saying “Sorry”
  • Asking people in public how much they earn
  • Taking excessive food from buffet lines
  • Littering
  • Disregard for public property
  • Smoking in non-smoking areas
  • Spitting in public
  • Using the handphone in the cinema to talk or send messages
  • Not giving up seats to the elderly, disabled and pregnant women
  • Not responding to RSVP requests
  • Cutting into people’s conversations
  • Boasting about your wealth among less fortunate people
  • Taking other people's things without seeking their permission

For a major publication to hold such a contest/poll, it only goes to show the level of social etiquette of our country...

Happy Belated New Year

A very happy new 2005…! The start of the new year turned out to be a busy one for me, so much so that I haven’t got the chance to write something for this blog until now..

Well, I don’t have the habit of making new year resolutions, so there won’t be any resolutions coming from me… Once read somewhere in an article that New Year resolutions are becoming too cliché.. I sort of agree.. Honestly, I don’t need the new year to resolve to do something, resolutions can be made up anytime and every time as long as you resolve to stick to it. To me that’s the whole idea of resolutions…

But resolutions aside, I do hope that 2005 will bode well for me and my family and friends, and may 2005 be a better year for all..!
