On Reading

I love to read. And I love to collect the books that I have read. Hence u can imagine the number of books I have amassed so far over the years... And I do mean over the last 20 years.... Till this day, I still have in my collection, all the books that I had bought when I was a little girl...

And its interesting to note how my tastes in books had developed and changed over the years...

From the picture books during my kindergarten years to
the fairy tales in Enid Blyton's books to (Ooohh how I loved those tales of elves and fairies and of magical lands)
the adventure stories of Famous Five and Secret Seven to (An upgrade from elves to kids)
the teenage romance of Sweet Valley High and Sweet Dreams (Oh yes, am entering into another phase in life.... puberty!!!)

During my teenage years, I had outgrown the sweet romantic stuff, and was looking for something with more substance... and this was where I discovered the Classics: Jane Eyre, Wuthering Heights, Pride and Prejudice etc to name a few, had me hooked.... for a while.. until I became morbid and was into Horror...

Stephen King has been my all time favourite, and I have the whole collection of the Mayfair witches series by Ann Rice...

From there, I kinda diversified and started reading anything and everything (err... that is anything except those self-help books... Somehow I can never get past the first chapter of these books....)

These days, its anything that catches my attention - Biographies, Suspense, Murder mysteries, Science fiction, Horror, and of course Harry Potter... My books have certainly come a long way, and have grown up with me, so to speak...

For the record, all books mentioned above are still all in my collection, in tip top condition albeit a bit yellow with age..

And speaking of which... the next Harry Potter book is stated to be coming out soon... All Harry Potter fans watch out!! Coz I definitely will !!
