Hooked on The O.C
My oh my, am I hooked to the TV series, The O.C….And its all thanks to my younger sister, who had brought back with her, a whole set of DVDs containing all episodes from the First season of The O.C.
Now I must admit, I was not interested in it initially.. I mean come on lah…I am way past my puberty and teeny bopper stage… And all this drama about love and family relationships between a group of 16-yr olds, set in a rich and posh area called Orange County (hence the O.C) where everyone knows everybody.... Hmm, sounds familiar *Jolll smirks*…. Oh ya, its like the current version of Beverly Hills 90210 (which I was hooked to during my heydays…hehe)
So that was why I had never bothered to catch it when it was showing on TV.. *double smirk*
But on last Sunday, when the scorching hot sun made it impossible to be outdoors, and while we were bored to death at home doing nothing… we decided to watch the DVDs anyhow…just to while away the time…
But Lo and Behold! After the first episode, I found it hard to stop watching… In fact I was hooked!! The storylines are quite compelling, the script is witty and fun, and what’s interesting is how the lives of the different characters are intertwined and linked together, which forms a platform for lots of juicy stories…! And of course the eye candy cannot be missed, while I am far from downright ogling at the male characters, I must say that the pretty faces do make the series more attractive…
However, after watching 15 episodes (as of 1.30am this morning), I still can’t believe the protagonists are only 16!! Seems like their lives are so much complicated than a 25 turning 26 year old here… But then again… Orange County and Johor Bahru are totally miles apart! (and I’m not just talking about the distance here..)
Just another OC snippet before I end this blog… How is it possible that a 16-yr old (Marissa) can own so many Chanel Bags (I have counted 3 already… and still counting) and even carry one to school?? *incredulous smirk* Have they any idea how much one cost???
I guess this will only happen in The O.C !! 12 more episodes to go before I finish the entire series…More Chanel Bags counting tonite… *smirk smirk*
