I Can't Stand Rude and Obnoxious people
I simply cannot understand why some people can be so rude!!!It started off as a simple phone call to my client just to enquire about my company's payment for this month. I wasn't even speaking in a harsh tone or any sort, in fact I was nice, pleasant and polite to him (let's just call him H). I wasn't even chasing H for immediate payment, just enquiring if I can expect payment by end of this month. But all he gave me were one word answers in the rudest, most curt and unfriendliest tone of voice.
Sheeeshhhh!Where are his manners!! We are all working together as peers in this industry, he has no business talking to me like this! Its not as if i have been haggling after him everyday. I only call him once a month!!
Besides in this construction industry, it is the norm to have people calling (chasing) for payment. I am not immune to it. In fact I have probably 10 times as many people calling me chasing me for payment from my suppliers every other day, but I do not tell them off. I even take the time to explain to them when my payment to them is late.
As the debtor, we are obliged to explain the situation to our suppliers/subcontractors, since they are the ones that supply the materials and perform the work onsite. Simarly, we being H's company's subcontractor, are entitled to be treated in a fair manner. Even if H found me annoying, he should remain professional and answer my enquiries to his best knowledge instead of snubbing me off.
I cannot stand people who reciprocate niceness with rudeness.
Is it really so hard to be polite???
